The Course object is to improve every student’s English conversation ability. Attention will be given to improving the speed of communication with less importance of accuracy. While accuracy in speaking is important,  fluency is much more important.  So this class uses class time and individual homework assignments to improve the students' communicative speaking skills. Historically Korean students have studied English too long and too hard. Now these students need to practice the language. This class is largely a practice class. 

This course primarily aims to improve English conversation skills, specifically speaking and listening. Improving fluency and confidence are also goals of this course, while increased learner autonomy is a goal of the flipped/blended style. Each class has some lecture and speaking practice.  Students will practice speaking with other students.  Students are expected to prepare for each class in advance by doing the assigned homework.  Homework will prepare the student for speaking.  

이 수업의 목표는 모든 학생들의 영어 회화 능력을 향상시키는 것입니다. 수업에서 말하기 정확성도 중요하지만 의사소통 속도를 높이는 것에 중점을 맞춥니다. 말하는 정확성도 중요하지만 유창성이 더 중요합니다. 이 수업에서는 수업 시간과 개인 과제를 통해 학생들의 대화 능력을 향상시킵니다. 오래전부터 한국 학생들은 영어를 너무 오랫동안 힘들게 공부해왔습니다. 이제 학생들은 언어를 사용하는 연습을 해야 합니다. 이 수업은 그런 의미에서 연습 위주의 수업입니다.

주로 영어 대화 능력과 특히 말하기와 듣기 실력 향상이 목표인 수업입니다. 유창하게 말하기와 자신감 향상시키기가 목표이며 학생들이 주체가 되어 플립 러닝 스타일과 블랜디드 러닝 스타일을 사용합니다. 각 수업은 짧은 강의와 말하기 연습으로 구성되어 있습니다. 다른 학생들과 함께 말하기 연습을 하게 됩니다. 수업 준비로 개인 과제가 있습니다. 과제는 말하기 준비입니다.

Discussion & Debate is a discussion based English speaking course. Through student led discussion, students will learn how to formulate and support opinions and arguments in a friendly setting. Throughout the course all students will participate in debates and lead a group discussion. 

The objective of the course is to have students learn about forming arguments and voicing opinions through logic, reasoning, and evidence. By having students speaking and researching before the discussions, students will learn to speak confidently about topics and themes catered to a CEFR B2 level. 

The course will follow a traditional lecture format for about 20-30 minutes a week. The remainder of the class will be student led discussions and talking practice. During this time the professor will oversee and facilitate when needed, to implement the subject material from the lecture and have students practice these techniques in the classroom. 

이 수업은 영어로 말하며 토론하는 수업입니다. 학생들은 토론을 이끌어가면서 어떻게 표현하고 의견을 뒷받침하고 또 편한 분위기에서 논의하는지를 배울 것입니다. 이 수업을 통해 학생들은 토론에 참여하면서 토론을 이끌어 가게 될 것입니다.

이 수업의 목표는 학생들이 논리, 이유, 증거를 가지고 주장을 만들고 의견을 표현하는 것입니다. 학생들이 토론하기 전에 말하고 자료를 찾아보면서 CEFR B2 레벨에 맞춘 주제에 대해 자신 있게 말하는 방법을 배울 것입니다.

수업은 일주일에 20-30분 정도는 기존의 강의 방식으로 진행하게 됩니다. 나머지 수업은 학생들이 중심이 되어 토론과 말하기 연습을 하는 시간을 가질 것입니다. 이 시간 동안 교수는 수업 주제 자료를 주고 학생들이 수업 시간에 연습할 수 있도록 도와주며 필요에 따라 감독하고 조언할 것입니다.

English Drama is an exciting and interactive course which will provide students knowledge in English as well as it will teach them the basics in drama. Students will read various English scripts, role plays and drama related texts and then have the opportunity to act out the items with their classmates. The class will be held in a fun and exciting environment, to provide all students with a comfortable learning environment to improve their English and acting abilities. 

The objective of this course is to improve students English through acting and drama. The students will have the goals of expanding their vocabulary, improving their fluency, pronunciation and intonation. The class will use a book, but mainly focus on task based assignments. Students will participate in activities, create dialogue, and act in various skits and performances all while using English.

이 수업은 흥미진진하고 대화형인 수업 방식으로 학생에게 영어에 대한 지식을 알려주고 드라마 기반으로 진행됩니다. 학생들은 다양한 영어 대본을 읽고 드라마와 관련된 롤플레이와 같은 역할극도 하며 반 학생들과 소품으로 연기도 해보는 기회를 가질 수 있습니다. 수업은 모든 학생들이 재미있고 즐겁게 영어실력과 연기 능력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 편안한 환경에서 이루어질 것입니다.

수업 목표는 학생들의 영어 실력을 연기와 드라마를 통해 향상시키는 것입니다. 학생들은 다양한 단어를 사용하고 유창성과 발음, 억양 등을 개발시키는 것입니다. 수업에서는 책을 사용하겠지만 대부분은 과제 중심의 수업이 될 것입니다. 수업 동안 영어로 말하며 여러 활동에 참여하고 대화문을 만들며 다양한 콩트와 연기를 하게 될 것입니다.

This course is intended to introduce and develop the skills of effective writing in English.  Although the ultimate goal is writing, a variety of sources and activities will be explored. By the end of the course, students should be able to write creative and effective paragraphs and groups of paragraphs with a clear intent and purpose.

A task based, writer's workshop is the foundation of this course. Student autonomy is encouraged, as individual styles and preferences develop.

이 수업은 효과적인 글쓰기를 위해 영어 작문 능력을 기르고 개발하는 수업입니다. 이 수업의 목표는 작문이지만 다양한 자료도 보고 활동도 함께 경험할 수 있습니다. 학생들은 이 수업에서 의도와 목적에 맞게 창의적인 글을 쓰고 인상적인 문장과 문단을 이용한 글쓰기를 배울 수 있습니다. 학생들이 써온 과제를 중심으로 수업이 진행될 것입니다. 자신의 글쓰기 방법과 선호하는 방식으로 학생들의 자율성을 권장합니다.

This course is intended to introduce and develop the skills of developing a thesis and supporting that thesis with a variety of forms. Although the ultimate goal is writing, a variety of sources and activities will be explored. By the end of the course students should be able to independently create a thesis and competently support that thesis in an appropriate form. A task based, writer's workshop is the foundation of this course.  Student autonomy is encouraged, as styles and preferences develop. 

이 수업에서는 주제를 선정하고 다양한 형태의 논리를 뒷받침하는 글쓰기 방법을 개발할 수 있습니다. 이 수업의 최종 목표는 글쓰기이지만 다양한 자료도 보고 활동도 함께 경험할 수 있습니다. 학생들은 이 수업이 끝날 무렵에는 자율적으로 글쓰기 주제를 선정하고 이를 뒷받침할 수 있는 내용을 적절하게 사용해 글을 쓸 수 있게 됩니다. 수업은 학생들의 과제를 중심으로 진행됩니다. 자신의 글쓰기 방법과 선호하는 방식으로 학생들의 자율성을 권장합니다.

The Business Writing course is for people who have an adequate knowledge of the English language, but have basic usage problems due to English being a second language. This course will teach you how to apply the principles of good business writing to your work, how to use simple tools to improve your writing, and how to execute, organize, structure, and revise your writings in order to communicate more effectively. The instructor will evaluate samples of your writing, identify errors in language, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure, show you how the text should be written, coach you through learning the skills, and evaluate your learning as you progress through the course.

비즈니스 라이팅 수업은 영어에 대해 알고는 있지만 영어가 모국어가 아닌 이유로 기초적인 활용 방법이 어려운 학생들을 위한 수업입니다. 이 수업은 여러분들에게 직장에서의 비즈니스 문서 작성 방법, 간단하게 글쓰기 스킬을 향상시키는 방법, 효율적으로 의사소통하기 위해 글을 쓰고 구성하고 구조화하며 수정하면 좋을지에 대해 가르쳐드립니다. 강의자는 학생들이 쓴 글을 평가하고 언어, 문법, 구두점, 철자와 문장구조의 오류를 찾아내며 어떻게 글을 써야 하는지, 글쓰기 기술을 가르쳐주고 또 이 수업을 통해 배운 것을 평가할 것입니다.

The English Reading course explores English literature varying from short novels, poetry, and comic strips. It focuses on students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, and writing skills. Moreover, the course will give students a window to American and English culture. This course will help students improve their fluency and understanding of American and British cultures.

영어 독해 수업은 단편 소설, 시, 만화에서 벗어나 영미문학을 다른 시각에서 공부합니다. 학생들의 독해 이해력, 비판적인 사고, 글쓰기 실력들에 중심을 둡니다. 또한 이 수업은 미국과 영국 문화를 간접 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 것입니다. 학생들이 유창하게 말하고 미국과 영국 문화를 이해할 수 있는 기회가 되는 수업이 될 것입니다.

During this course learners will be introduced to trending current events through a variety of authentic materials (online news stories, documentaries/films etc.) Learners will have the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills about issues affecting our world and practice how to effectively communicate related views and opinions in English. 

This course will aim to: (a) empower learners to critically consider and discuss issues in news and trending topics; (b) to broaden learners’ general world views and English conversational range; and (c) to develop all language learning skills through a task-based approach. 

A largely communicative language, task-based approach will be followed in class. Interaction will be both the means and often ultimate goal of study in class as learners interact with each other and the instructor through the use of authentic materials (news & trending topics). 

The class will focus on developing and evaluating all language skills through a variety of tasks during the semester. A Task-Based Learning approach will be followed. Learners will complete various tasks as assigned by the professor, for example: debate, individual presentation, essay / other writing tasks, in-class opinion / conversation tasks, documentary. 

학생들은 다양한 인증된 자료인 온라인 뉴스, 서류, 영화 등으로 최근의 여러 사건에 대해 공부하게 됩니다. 세계적으로 영향을 끼치고 있는 사건들에 대한 비판적인 사고력을 키우고 본인의 견해와 입장에 대해 영어로 조리 있게 말하는 방법을 연습할 것입니다.

수업은 (a) 학생들이 최근 사건들과 뉴스에 대해 비판적으로 생각해 보고 토론하기 (b) 학생들의 세계관과 영어 회화 범위를 넓히기 (c) 사전 과제를 중심으로 언어 학습 능력을 개발시키기를 목표로 진행됩니다.

주로 의사소통, 과제 중심 학습 방법으로 수업이 진행됩니다. 학습자가 최신 뉴스나 주제에 맞는 자료를 사용하여 학생끼리 또는 강사와 상호작용하기 때문에 함께 참여하는 것이 중요하며 최종적인 목표가 될 것입니다.

한 학기 동안 다양한 과제를 하면서 언어 능력을 개발시키고 평가하는 방법으로 진행될 것입니다. 과제 중심 학습이 진행될 것입니다. 학생들은 교수자가 주는 토론, 개인 발표, 에세이나 다른 글쓰기, 수업 시간 동안의 의견, 대화 과제나 다큐멘터리와 같은 다양한 과제를 하게 됩니다.

English Presentation course introduces language, techniques, and skills required to perform effective presentations. Opportunities to explore current events, interests, and other subject matter presented in everyday personal and professional contexts. This is an English speaking class. 영어 발표 수업은 효율적인 발표를 위해 언어, 기술과 능력을 키우게 해주는 수업입니다. 최근의 이슈와 관심사 또 공적이거나 사적인 이야기들을 다룰 수 있는 수업입니다. 수업은 영어로 진행됩니다. 말하기의 정확도도 중요하지만 유창성이 더욱 중요합니다. 이 수업에서는 학생들의 의사소통 능력을 키우기 위해 수업 시간 외에 개별 과제도 있습니다.

오래전부터 한국 학생들은 오랜 시간 동안 열심히 영어 공부를 해왔습니다. 이제는 학생들이 실질적으로 사용해야 합니다. 이 수업은 연습이 위주입니다. 각 수업마다 짧은 강의를 듣고 말하기 연습 시간이 주어집니다. 학생들은 다른 학생들과 함께 말하기 연습을 할 것입니다. 학생들은 과제로 미리 수업 준비를 해야 합니다. 과제는 영어 말하기 준비입니다. 수업 시간은 준비한 것을 말하는 시간입니다. 점수는 참여도와 출석으로 평가될 것입니다.

This course seeks to provide students with a solid foundational understanding of basic English grammar. We will cover the basic, most important areas of English grammar. However, the course will not be difficult. The points studied will be very useful in helping the students speak and write incorrect sentences. The textbook exercises will be explained clearly by the instructor. Therefore students should not be afraid to take this course. They will be guided carefully by the professor through the text exercises, so it will be very clear and easy. 

This course will enable students to successful construct correct English sentences. This can only be accomplished by learning about and practicing using the correct forms and types of words to express themselves. Once a certain level of skill is achieved, students can confidently communicate in correct English both orally and, especially, in written form. This course will provide a solid foundation in achieving mastery of basic English grammar skills.

학생들에게 기초 영어 문법의 탄탄한 토대를 세울 수 있게 도와주는 수업입니다. 우리는 영어 문법에서 가장 중요한 기초에 대해 공부하게 됩니다. 어렵지 않은 강의입니다. 틀린 문장으로 말하고 쓰는 학생들에게는 아주 유용한 강의가 될 것입니다. 강사는 교과서에 나온 활동들에 대해 아주 이해하기 쉽게 설명할 것입니다. 학생들은 겁먹을 필요가 없습니다. 교과서 활동을 통해 교수가 친절하게 알려주고 아주 간단하고 쉬운 활동이 될 것입니다.

수업을 통해 학생들은 올바른 영어 문장을 구사할 수 있습니다. 하지만 이렇게 성취하기 위해서는 학생들이 스스로 표현하기 위해 올바른 형태와 다양한 단어들을 배우고 연습해야 합니다. 한 단계 성공하고 나면 학생들은 영어로 대화하고 특히 영어 글쓰기에 대한 자신감을 가지게 됩니다. 기초 영어 문법을 마스터하기 위해서 탄탄한 토대를 세울 수 있게 도와주는 수업이 될 것입니다.

This is an upper intermediate English class with the aim of providing an environment for students to comfortably expand upon the skills they’ve been developing at lower levels. The focus is on building upon previously acquired language skills by applying them creatively. A textbook will be used to provide engaging discussion topics and context that will serve as the basis for task formation. 

Creative exercises will be influenced by, but not limited by, the units of the textbook. Students will predominantly work in pairs or groups, however there will also be time for individual work. The teacher will provide ample material to promote creativity in context as well as to scaffold the creative process. Exemplary material provided will be in the form of drama and film, stories and literature, music and song, poetry and chant, as well as other forms of media with a focus on the creative elements inherent to the works. 

These example works will serve as models for material the students will create in their tasks and assignments. This course offers an outlet for students to build their fluency and confidence with English through task-based activities that promote creativity in second language output. In this class we’ll focus on how language is used for creative effect and the communication of meaning through the created work. Creative collaboration with each other and the teacher is intended to foster greater motivation amongst the students, in turn leading to more committed and more effective learning. 

이 수업은 중상위권 학생들을 위해 전에 배웠던 것들을 더 쉽게 확장할 수 있는 환경을 제공합니다. 수업 목표는 창의적인 응용을 통해 이미 가지고 있던 언어 능력을 발전시키는 것입니다. 교과서는 과제에 도움이 될 흥미로운 토론 주제나 내용에 참고하기 위해 사용할 것입니다. 

학생들은 교과서 한 단원 내에서 자유롭고 창의적인 수업 활동을 하게 됩니다. 대부분의 수업은 파트너 또는 그룹으로 진행되지만 개인 활동도 있습니다. 강사는 문맥에서 창의력을 키울 수 있고 또 창의적인 과정에 도움이 되는 충분한 자료를 제공할 것입니다. 드라마에서부터 영화, 이야기와 문학, 음악과 노래, 시와 챈트 등 창의적인 요소가 들어있는 자료를 중심으로 다양한 미디어 유형을 다루게 될 것입니다.

이와 같은 활동은 학생들이 해야 할 과제와 활동을 위한 예시 자료가 될 것입니다.

이 수업은 학생들이 제2외국어로 과제 활동을 하며 창의성을 개발시키고 영어에 대한 유창성과 자신감을 가질 수 있게 도와줍니다. 이 수업에서는 어떻게 창의적인 방법으로 언어를 사용하는지 또 창의적인 방법으로 의미 전달하는 방법에 대해 중심을 둘 것입니다. 강사나 학생들 간의 협력은 학생들끼리의 동기부여를 높이고 결과적으로는 열정적이고 효과적인 학습을 이끌어낼 수 있습니다.

In this English Project course, students will produce some small projects and share the results with the class. Some will be related to the topic of their choice. The rest will be related to the textbook or the professor’s topic of choice. The objective of this course is to enhance and expand student’s understanding through projects. This course is to demonstrate deeper understanding of a subject through research, organization, and explanation. This course will use project-based learning to deepen the learning experience. Student interaction is critical to success.

이 수업은 작은 프로젝트를 학생이 맡아 진행하고 결과를 공유하는 방식으로 진행됩니다. 몇몇의 학생들은 본인이 선택한 주제로 진행하게 될 것입니다. 다른 학생들은 교과서나 교수가 선택한 주제로 진행하게 됩니다. 이 수업의 목표는 학생들이 프로젝트를 통해 이해도를 향상시키고 견문을 넓히는 것입니다. 수업은 연구하고 준비하고 설명하면서 주제에 대한 깊은 이해를 할 수 있을 것입니다. 프로젝트를 중심으로 학습 경험을 높이는 수업이 될 것입니다. 성공적인 수업을 위해 학생들 사이의 의사소통이 아주 중요합니다.

Many English courses offer English in the form of unimaginative stock phrases that are only used in a classroom. This is not that kind of class. Instead, Data-driven English offers students samples of genuine English that they can easily use in real life conversations with native speakers. 

This course instructs students in the use of a kind of free search engine that produces English as written/spoken by native English speakers. The search engine produces modern results because the material being searched. The goal of this course is not to question students and then push students to write answers. Rather, the course will train students to search for the answers themselves, and to always have the most up-to-date, modern answer. 

This course will pose questions to students who can then use a special search engine to answer the question. Since the search engine can be online, the answer to any question can change as English speakers use new phrases in the language. This is different from textbooks because textbook answers are on paper, and only change when you buy a new textbook.

많은 영어 수업이 교실에서만 사용하는 흔한 문장에 틀에 박혀 있는 형태로 배우게 됩니다. 하지만 이 수업은 다릅니다. 데이터 중심 영어 강의는 학생들에게 원어민과 사용할 때 실제 생활에서 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 진짜 영어를 가르쳐줍니다.

이 수업은 학생들에게 무료 검색 엔진을 이용해 원어민이 실제로 사용하는 문자나 말하는 영어를 배울 수 있습니다. 검색 엔진은 검색되는 자료들이기 때문에 최신 결과를 알 수 있습니다. 이 수업의 목표는 학생들에게 질문하고 답을 적어내도록 하는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 학생들이 스스로 답을 찾고 가장 현재에 사용되고 현대적인 답을 찾도록 하는 것입니다.

학생들은 특별한 검색 엔진을 사용하여 답을 찾을 수 있도록 질문을 받게 될 것입니다. 검색 엔진은 온라인이고 영어 발화자가 새로운 언어 문장을 사용하기 때문에 질문에 대한 답은 바뀔 수 있습니다. 교과서의 정답은 종이에 적혀 있고 새로운 책을 산 경우에만 답이 다르기 때문에 보통의 교과서와는 다릅니다.
